After a nice welcome words and the introduction on the scope of the event, the participants were invited to visit the rich Poster Session.
The programme of the Symposium has been articulated around following main parts.
The first part ‘Looking Back‘ reviewed the work done in the frame of the three completed work packages: WP1, WP2 and WP3. The presentations from the UNCHARTED partners were interlaced with interventions from two sister projects, namely INVENT and MESOC, which also reported about their achievements so far.
An interactive and engaging session named ‘Tensions in Societal Values of Culture’ followed. Here the participants broke down in smaller groups, each one assigned with a set of discussion points.
The second part ‘Looking Forward‘ presented the plans for the two recently started UNCHARTED work packages: WP4 and WP5.
The Symposium concluded with an open debate about the key question that UNCHARTED is trying to answer: Can Value Conflicts Be Managed or Mitigated? The discussion was introduced by the presentations focusing on the two sides of the question, namely policy and research aspects.
