The MEMEX project promotes social cohesion through collaborative, heritage-related tools – methodology and app – that provide inclusive access to tangible and intangible cultural heritage and, at the same time, facilitate encounters and interactions between communities at risk of social /cultural exclusion. The targets of MEMEX are intermediaries, professionals from socio-cultural organizations who work with socially fragile people that are systematically blocked from various cultural opportunities. As a heterogeneous sample of these communities, MEMEX deploys three distinct pilots to analyze different expectations from communities dislocated in different regions of the European territory:
- Paris, France: The pilot activity focuses on the inhabitants of priority neighborhoods (Rosa Parks 19th district of Paris)
- Lisbon, Portugal: The pilot activity focuses on first and second-generation migrant communities.
- Barcelona, Spain: The pilot activity focuses on migrant women in the city.
