Arts for Young Audiences Norway (Kulturtanken) is the Ministry of Culture agency responsible for art and culture for school pupils. This includes nationwide responsibility for The Cultural Schoolbag (TCS), the centrepiece of the government’s policy for bringing culture to children and young people.
Arts for Young Audiences Norway works closely with the Ministry of Education and Research, which is responsible for the institutions where TCS is implemented, namely schools.
Arts for Young Audiences Norway provides advice and other services to the central government authorities involved in the culture and education sectors, thus helping to establish a political framework and develop national programs to strengthen children and young people’s participation in art and culture.
Arts for Young Audiences Norway acts as a resources centre for counties and municipalities, and promotes collaboration, research, and innovation.
